A dedicated midbass driver gives an audio product more body, impact and warmth than a midrange driver alone, while maintaining clearer lower-midrange reproduction than a conventional woofer. Compact soundbars, multimedia speakers, automotive systems and commercial audio products often need stronger bass impact but cannot accommodate a large woofer or subwoofer.
ZEH develops compact midbass drivers that provide stronger upper-bass and lower-midrange output within the available enclosure space. Driver diameter, mounting depth, cone structure and magnetic circuit are selected according to the product’s internal layout and target sound.
A woofer may reproduce the lower frequencies, but it cannot always connect naturally with the midrange driver or tweeter. This can leave the finished product sounding weak, disconnected or unclear around the crossover region.
ZEH matches the midbass driver’s sensitivity, resonant frequency and usable frequency response with the adjoining drivers. This helps create a smoother transition between bass, vocals and higher-frequency content.
Midbass performance depends heavily on enclosure volume, port design, sound outlet, grille and amplifier power. A driver that performs well during an open-air test may produce weak bass, excessive vibration or cabinet noise after installation.
ZEH evaluates the driver inside the customer’s actual enclosure and complete audio system. We adjust the cone, surround, spider, voice coil and magnetic circuit to control excursion, distortion and resonance under real operating conditions.
For OEM products, a successful prototype is not enough. Resonant frequency, sensitivity, impedance and mechanical construction must remain consistent across production batches.
