Custom Midrange Speaker Driver Manufacturer for OEM & ODM Projects

ZEH manufactures custom midrange speaker drivers for automotive audio, home Hi-Fi, karaoke, multimedia and professional loudspeaker systems. We customize the frame size, mounting depth, impedance, power, sensitivity, diaphragm, magnetic circuit and frequency response around your enclosure, amplifier, crossover, woofer and tweeter.

From engineering samples and acoustic matching to speaker assembly, production testing and repeat batch manufacturing, ZEH helps OEM and ODM customers turn approved speaker designs into stable, production-ready products.

Midrange Speaker Basics

What Is a Midrange Speaker Driver?

A dedicated midrange speaker helps reproduce vocals, dialogue and other important middle-frequency content with greater control and clarity.

It is commonly used in multi-driver audio systems where a woofer or midbass driver handles lower frequencies and a tweeter handles higher frequencies. By assigning the middle-frequency range to a dedicated driver, the system can achieve clearer vocals, higher output and a more controlled transition between the low- and high-frequency sections.

The final performance does not come from the midrange driver alone. Cone material, suspension, voice coil, magnetic circuit, enclosure, grille, crossover and the adjoining speaker drivers all influence the usable result.

What Is a Midrange Speaker Driver?
Compared with Full-Range
A full-range speaker is designed to reproduce a broader usable frequency range and may operate as the only driver in a compact product. A midrange speaker focuses mainly on vocal and middle-frequency content and is normally used as part of a multi-driver audio system.
Compared with Midbass
A midbass speaker extends further into upper-bass and lower-midrange content and normally requires greater diaphragm movement. A midrange speaker places more emphasis on vocal definition, middle-frequency efficiency and integration with the tweeter.
Best Fit
Automotive component speakers, multimedia systems, home audio, karaoke speakers, commercial loudspeakers and other products requiring clear and controlled mid-frequency reproduction.

Custom Midrange Speaker Drivers Developed for OEM & ODM Projects

The products below are midrange speaker drivers previously developed and manufactured by ZEH for different OEM and ODM audio projects. They demonstrate the speaker sizes, frame structures, mounting depths, magnetic circuits, impedance options and power configurations we can produce.

These are not fixed retail models. As a custom midrange speaker manufacturer, ZEH can use an existing product as a development reference or customize the structure, dimensions, materials and acoustic parameters around your enclosure, amplifier, crossover and production requirements.

Midrange Speaker Applications: Automotive, Pro Audio, Home Hi-Fi & More

Each project starts from the actual constraints of the product — cavity depth, sustained power, distortion targets, mounting standard or production volume. Select an application below to see the engineering challenge, ZEH’s approach, and the result.

Custom Midrange Speaker for a Car Door Sound System

For OEM and aftermarket car door applications, the midrange driver must deliver clear vocal and instrument reproduction within a shallow cavity behind the door panel, while withstanding sustained vibration, wide temperature swings, and humidity exposure over the vehicle's service life — without a shift in resonance frequency or loss of sensitivity.
ZEH selects driver diameter (typically 3.5"–5") and basket depth to match the available door cavity, using a treated-paper or PEI composite cone for a balance of rigidity and low mass. Voice coil wire (copper or CCAW), surround compliance, and spider tension are matched together to control cone breakup above the crossover point while keeping free-air resonance within the target range for the customer's system.
ZEH Results
Stable resonance frequency and sensitivity across vibration and thermal cycling testing; consistent frequency response across production batches; driver depth compatible with standard door cavity dimensions.

Why OEM Audio Brands Choose ZEH for Midrange Speaker Manufacturing

ZEH combines acoustic engineering, component manufacturing and production validation to support custom midrange speaker projects from initial specifications through mass production. Instead of supplying a standard driver alone, we develop each solution around your enclosure, crossover, amplifier, adjoining drivers and target sound performance.

20+ Years of Speaker Development Experience

Our acoustic engineering team can develop from your drawings, existing samples or product concept. Driver dimensions, cone and suspension materials, voice coil, magnetic circuit and acoustic parameters are adjusted around the actual requirements of your application.

Complete Audio-System Matching

We evaluate the midrange driver together with the woofer, tweeter, crossover, amplifier and enclosure. This system-level approach helps achieve clearer vocals, balanced sensitivity and smoother transitions between frequency bands in the finished product.

Prototype Testing Before Tooling and Production

Engineering samples are tested for frequency response, impedance, sensitivity, distortion, power handling and installation compatibility. Potential acoustic, electrical and assembly problems can therefore be corrected before tooling, pilot production or bulk ordering.

Manufacturing Built for Consistent Batch Quality

ZEH uses automated and semi-automated production processes with acoustic and reliability testing to control unit-to-unit consistency. With annual production capacity exceeding 10 million units across its product lines, we can support both pilot runs and ongoing volume requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions About Custom Midrange Speakers

Is a midrange speaker suitable for my audio system?

A dedicated midrange speaker is suitable when your product uses multiple drivers and requires clearer vocals, greater middle-frequency output or more controlled frequency distribution.

ZEH can evaluate your enclosure, amplifier, crossover, woofer and tweeter information before recommending a suitable platform.

What is the difference between a midrange and full-range speaker?

A full-range speaker is designed to reproduce a broader usable frequency range and may operate alone in a compact product.

A midrange speaker focuses mainly on vocals and middle-frequency content and is normally used together with low- and high-frequency drivers.

What is the difference between a midrange and midbass speaker?

A midbass speaker reproduces more upper-bass and lower-midrange content and normally requires greater diaphragm movement.

A midrange speaker focuses more on vocal clarity and central audio content.

Can you customize the midrange speaker size and structure?

Yes. ZEH can evaluate the speaker diameter, total height, mounting depth, frame shape, hole positions and magnetic-circuit dimensions according to your product structure.

Can you customize impedance, power and acoustic response?

Yes. Impedance, rated power, sensitivity, resonant frequency and frequency response can be evaluated according to your amplifier, crossover and target sound.

The final parameters are confirmed through sample development and testing.

Can you match the midrange driver with our woofer and tweeter?

Yes. Please provide the woofer, tweeter, amplifier and crossover information.

ZEH can evaluate the operating range, sensitivity balance and transition between the different drivers.

Can you develop a speaker from our drawing or product sample?

Yes. You can provide a 2D drawing, 3D file, existing speaker sample, enclosure sample or complete audio product.

Our engineers will review the installation space, mounting structure, sound outlet and system requirements.

Can you supply an integrated midrange speaker module?

Yes. The project can include the midrange driver, enclosure, grille, wire harness, connector, sealing materials and related acoustic components.

The available integration scope depends on the product structure and project requirements.

Do you support prototype and sample development?

Yes. ZEH supports engineering samples, system matching, acoustic testing and pilot production before mass production.
